    ECP-2100M:

System Electronics: Complete Panel of the ECP2100M
The ECP-2100M an advanced version of the ECP-2000M stands for   Embedded Controlled Printing, 2100 being the model number and M indicating model with Memory. As the name suggests, ECP is a microcontroller-based unit used to control the ink flow in the offset machines and also to control the circumferential and lateral movements (i.e. registration) of the plates used in printing.

Broadly speaking, the ECP2100 as its earlier model controls the movement of the following motors in the offset printing machine. But the electrical wiring in this model is greatly reduced.

    Ink key motors

Ink Duct motors

Circumferential motors

Lateral motors

The ECP2100M uses RS-485 communication protocol which helps in reducing the tedious wiring that was done in earlier model. The complete control consists of a central CPU communicating serially with individual CPU for each motor. The front panel in this case is divided into two parts namely the ink keys section and the touch-panel. The ink keys section consists of digital display for ink keys indicating the percentage of ink flow from 0% to 99% and individual movement keys for movement of the respective motors in either direction. The touch panel consists of the unit selection keys, movement keys for the registration and ink duct motors, individual reset keys, central lock key, and other functions’ related keys. It also displays the currently selected unit and the positions of the motors (registration & ink duct) for the selected unit.

System Electronics: Digital display for the Ink keys and Ink Duct shows the motor movement (i.e. the amount of ink flow) in percentage from 00 to 99
The digital display for the Ink keys and Ink Duct shows the motor movement (i.e. the amount of ink flow) in percentage from 00 to 99 as shown in Figure 2. Whereas the digital display for the Circumferential and Lateral shows the motor movement in terms of the plate movement in millimeters (i.e. 2mm on either side of center) from +2.00 to –2.00. The motor movement for the registration & ink duct motors is possible through dedicated keys on the touch-panel below their respective displays as shown in Figure 3 and Figure 4 respectively.

System Electronics: Touch Panel with Circumferential and Lateral digital displays and movement keys. LCD display showing the selected unit (unit being highlighted).
The ECP 2100M consists of a main Touch Panel display. The Touch Panel displays various parameters such as the currently selected unit being highlighted. It also displays the current position of the circumferential, lateral and inkduct motors in digital display. The circum and lateral motor positions are displayed in terms of metric units( in the range of + 2.00 mm to - 2.00 mm ) whereas the inkduct position is displayed in percentage from 00 to 99 along with an analog meter. The touch panel also consits of buttons for the corressponding motor movements and cylinder selection as shown in figure 3 and 4.

The main feature of the ECP is its ability to store the positions of all the above-mentioned motors for each cylinder, which makes the printing of repeated jobs very easy and fast. The ECP2100M consists of an Internal Memory which can store up to 50 jobs.
